To diagnose illnesses of the air ways, we are developing a lab-on-a-chip platform with which a number of analytes an be detected simultaneously, such as biomarkers for the severity of an infection, as well as pathogens and their resistances.
The joint "Reactive joining in micro connection technology" (REMTEC) project pursues the goal of making available the technology of reactive joining to German SMEs. The technological problems of producing and structuring reactive systems as standalone film or directly to the part using PVD and electroplating are addressed.
In this project the implementation and clinical validation of a fully integrated and automated platform for the parallel detection of neonatal sepsis markers and a panel of sepsis-causing bacteria from a whole blood sample was achieved.
The project consortium has developed the functional model of a sensor system for the measurement and classification of motor disease symptoms in Parkinson's, which does not affect the daily life of the patient.
As part of a European joint research project, under the umbrella of the Clusters for Application and Technology Research in Europe on Nanoelectronics (CATRENE), a compact sensor system has been developed with nine sensory freedom levels – comprising a 3D gyroscope, a 3D linear acceleration sensor and a 3D magnetometer.
In the "ConCaMis" project, a versatile micro camera as an example of a multifunctional microsystem was developed as part of the PRONTO production platform from the leading edge "MicroTEC Südwest" cluster. To produce application-specific lenses at low cost and in low volumes, aspherical lenses (outer diameter 3 mm) made of polycarbonate were costed, made using a hot-stamping process and held within synthetic sleeves (created with rapid prototyping).
The goal of the S.O.N.D.E. research project is the development of mobile, fully integrated diagnostics systems for the detection of pathogens and B-agents (because analysis methods being using currently are frequently based on stationary analysis devices). The relevant investigations are both time-consuming and inflexible.
For the continuous monitoring of biotechnological processes, we have developed a method that continuously monitors the DNA of microorganisms in a bioreactor.
A Modular Sensor Communication Technology Adapter enabling Industrial Internet of Things
Development of an automated platform technology for in vitro experiments with three-dimensional microtumors (tumoroids), which will be used in the clinical environment for a more targeted personalized tumor therapy.
The project SILENT aims at the development of a process for the fabrication of conductive silver and gold structures on cost-efficient temperature-sensitive thermoplastics by means of digital printing technologies.
