Production of smart systems in small quantities (SMARTER-SI)

As a new kind of manufacturing platform, SMARTER-SI offers the production of state-of-the-art micro-systems for SMEs in small quantities at the most economical prices and without protracted development costs.

As a new kind of manufacturing platform, SMARTER-SI offers the production of state-of-the-art micro-systems for SMEs in small quantities at the most economical prices and without protracted development costs. Alongside Hahn-Schickard as the coordinator, the platform will be carried by the research institutes CiS (Erfurt), IK4-IKERLAN (Spain), Tyndall National Labs (Ireland), Swerea IVF (Sweden) and CSEM (Switzerland). The joint offer by these partners contains a selection of a wide range of different components and subsystems with a high level of technological maturity, which have already been tried and tested in practice and employed in marketable products. The new combination of these modules makes it possible to achieve a never-ending list of new functions, which minimizes development costs and the risks during the transition to production. Seven European SMEs also belong to the product partners and their product ideas will be implemented as part of the project, which is also used by the platform for testing and optimization. The European Commission ranks Smarter-SI as showcase and therefore selected it as one of four exemplary projects of the Smart Anything Everywhere Initiative.
