SensIDL: Development support for sensor interfaces

The goal of the SensIDL project is the development of an Open Source Framework for the specification and efficient implementation of the data interfaces of intelligent sensors.

The continuous spread of intelligent sensor systems, as predicted by the Internet of things and Industry 4.0 research, also means an increased need for easy access to this sensor data. The goal of the SensIDL project is the development of an Open Source Framework for the specification and efficient implementation of the data interfaces of intelligent sensors. The standardized specification language, SensIDL (Sensor Interface Definition Language), enables data delivered by sensors to be defined in a uniform manner. In addition to the character described, an interface definition based on SensIDL is used as the basis for automated code generation. Together with the communication framework (permitting integration of different existing communication techniques), these results form the SensIDL toolbox.
