Valorisation of the full potential of smart interconnected products (ValSmart)

The aim of this project is to define a methodology for the development of smart connected devices based on the use of an IoT platform and to illustrate the potential for the business of SMEs. Smart product cases will be analysed using an IoT platform as a simulation tool. We will identify the best scenario, the best configuration of these cases allowing to capture the maximum value for the SMEs. Smart demonstrators will be manufactured with the recommendations of a user committee made up of SMEs of each region. The demonstrators will be put in field conditions and the generated data analysed with the IoT platform to compare with the best scenario and to validate the methodology.
The consortium will be composed of 2 research centres both bringing their complementary expertise in the field of smart product development: - Sirris: physical smart functions embodiment in products, machines, material selection and transformation, proof of concept design and achievement; - Hahn-Schickard: microsystems, electronics, sensors and actuators
The project ValSmart will act as a catalyst for digitization of conventional/physical products by identifying competitive product parameters for different use cases based on new business cases, innovative electronic components, software and systems.

Cooperation Partner: Das Konsortium besteht aus einem belgischen (Sirris) und einem deutschen (Hahn-Schickard) Forschungsinstitut mit komplementären sich ergänzenden Kompetenzen im Bereich intelligente Produktentwicklungen. Das Projekt dient beiden Partnern und den beteiligten Unternehmen als Katalysator bei der Digitalisierung von konventionellen/physikalischen Produkten, indem es wettbewerbsfähige Produktparameter für unterschiedliche Anwendungsfälle auf Grundlage neuer Geschäftsmodelle, innovativer elektronischer Komponenten, Software- und Systemlösungen identifiziert.
