Complex Systems in Foil (KoSiF)

In the project Hahn-Schickard investigates the versatile possibilities of digital printing technologies like inkjet or Aerosol Jet for the integration of sensor components such as strain gauges or resistive structures into Complex Systems in Foil. This includes identification and investigation of new printable materials for the sensor structures but also of protective coatings adapted to the respective application. Furthermore, questions regarding the integration of printed structures into the system in foil are addressed. The basic knowledge obtained in the first part of the project is utilized in the second part to implement printed sensors into a system in foil, which is part of the bionic gripper demonstrator developed by the project partner FESTO.
