The protoype and technology are developed as part of a project funded by InvestBW consists of a capacitive sensor on a glass fiber-reinforced polyamide substrate (Freeformer) with printed conductive metaltraces (StarJet) and surface-mounted components. Initial test runs for the technological integration of hardware and software have already been successfully completed.
The combination of the ARBURG Plastic Freeforming (APF) for robust and high-precise polymer parts from ARBURGadditive's and the StarJet technology for bulk metal printing opens up new possibilities for rapid prototyping of electronic assemblies, as a supplement to traditional production methods.
