Female Funding '21: Dermagnostix wins first place
First place in the business plan competition "female funding '21" went to the spin-off "Dermagnostix" headed by Hahn-Schickard Group Manager Dr.-Ing. Katharina Dormanns. Out of 62 submissions, 8 start-ups were allowed to present their business ideas at the digital matching event on March 18.
The business idea of Dermagnostix, a comprehensive platform for the molecular diagnosis of skin diseases, convinced the jury the most: Based on Hahn-Schickard's LabDisk technology, a fully automated, microfluidic analysis system for point-of-care diagnostics will reliably differentiate skin diseases.
The participation requirement that women must be relevantly represented in the founding team and that the pitch be held by a female founder was more than fulfilled. With three female founders, half of the management team at Dermagnostix is female. At the digital matching event "Female Funding '21", which was organized by the "Business Angels Netzwerk Deutschland e.V. in cooperation with the Business Angels Agentur Ruhr e.V. in the context of the "Women Business Angels Years 2020/21", there were start-up pitches, keynotes, panels and impulses for women entrepreneurs.
