Refrigerators that independently place online orders for foodstuffs that have run out, or light systems that can be controlled conveniently using your Smartphone: these and many other achievements make home living "smart".
We at Hahn-Schickard, however, develop systems to help people with physical limitations. These systems are designed to make day-to-day life as convenient, safe and above all independent as possible for people with activity or mobility limitations. One example of an assistance system of this type is a special sensor armband, on which patient data and information about the type of limitation is stored. This armband communicates independently with other systems used in-house, which execute actions such as "Open doors" if the "Person with limited vision" notification is transferred.
